About Tamang Heritage Trail
The Tamang Heritage Trail is a community-based trek in the Langtang region that immerses trekkers in the rich culture of the Tamang people, one of Nepal's largest ethnic groups with strong Tibetan Buddhist roots. The trail passes through traditional stone villages, ancient monasteries, and cheese factories with stunning views of Langtang Lirung and Ganesh Himal. Unlike busier treks, the Tamang Heritage Trail directly supports local communities through homestays and locally operated lodges. The trail can be combined with the Langtang Valley trek.
