Stir-fried buffalo meat with onions and spices

Ingredients

  • - 1.5 lbs buffalo meat, thinly sliced
  • - 2 cups onion, sliced
  • - 1 cup tomatoes, chopped
  • - 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • - 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • - 3 green chilies, sliced
  • - 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • - 1 tablespoon cumin powder
  • - 1/2 teaspoon timur
  • - 3 tablespoons mustard oil
  • - Salt to taste
  • - Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

    Heat mustard oil until smoking, then reduce heat slightly.

    Add meat slices and stir-fry on high heat until browned. Remove and set aside.

    In the same pan, add onions and fry until golden.

    Add ginger, garlic, green chilies, turmeric and cumin. Stir for a minute.

    Return meat to pan. Add tomatoes, timur and salt.

    Stir-fry on high heat for 5-7 minutes until meat is cooked and dry.

    Garnish with cilantro. Serve hot with chiura or rice.
