Mushroom Chili

Spicy Indo-Nepali style chili mushrooms

Ingredients

  • - 500g button mushrooms, halved
  • - 1 cup onion, sliced
  • - 1 cup bell peppers, sliced
  • - 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • - 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • - 1 tablespoon chili sauce
  • - 1 tablespoon tomato ketchup
  • - 1 teaspoon vinegar
  • - 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • - 3 tablespoons oil
  • - Salt and pepper to taste
  • - Green onions for garnish

Instructions

    Heat oil in a wok over high heat.

    Add mushrooms and stir-fry until golden and moisture evaporates. Remove and set aside.

    In the same wok, add onions and bell peppers. Stir-fry for 2 minutes.

    Add ginger-garlic paste, stir for 30 seconds.

    Add soy sauce, chili sauce, ketchup, vinegar and sugar. Mix well.

    Return mushrooms to wok. Toss to coat with sauce.

    Season with salt and pepper.

    Garnish with green onions. Serve hot as a starter or side dish.
