About Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve

Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve is Nepal's premier birdwatching destination, located on the floodplains of the Sapta Koshi River in southeastern Nepal. This Ramsar wetland site is home to over 500 bird species, including rare migrants from Siberia, Mongolia, and Tibet. The reserve also shelters the last remaining population of wild water buffalo (Arna) in Nepal, along with Gangetic dolphins, marsh mugger crocodiles, and various deer species. Boat rides on the Koshi River provide excellent wildlife viewing.
