About Shuklaphanta National Park

Shuklaphanta National Park in far-western Nepal is home to the world's largest population of endangered swamp deer (barasingha) and features some of the tallest grasslands in Asia. Covering 305 sq km of grasslands, forests, and wetlands along the Mahakali River, the park also shelters Bengal tigers, wild elephants, and over 350 bird species. The park's Rani Tal (Queen's Lake) is a serene wetland surrounded by forest. Less visited than Chitwan or Bardia, Shuklaphanta offers an authentic wilderness experience.
