About Swargadwari
Swargadwari (Gateway to Heaven) is one of Nepal's most significant Hindu pilgrimage sites, located in the Pyuthan district of western Nepal. Situated atop a forested hill at 2,000m, this ancient temple complex is believed to be the spot where the sage Veda Vyas composed parts of the Mahabharata. The site features temples dedicated to Shiva and Vishnu, meditation caves, and natural springs. During the annual Maha Shivaratri festival, hundreds of thousands of pilgrims from Nepal and India gather here. The surrounding forest is rich in biodiversity and medicinal plants.
