Chili momo - fried dumplings tossed in spicy chili sauce

Ingredients

  • For Momos:
  • - Use any momo recipe
  • For Chili Sauce:
  • - 2 tablespoons oil
  • - 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • - 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • - 1 cup onion, sliced
  • - 1 cup bell peppers, sliced
  • - 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • - 1 tablespoon chili sauce
  • - 1 tablespoon tomato ketchup
  • - 1 teaspoon vinegar
  • - 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • - Salt and pepper to taste
  • - Green onions for garnish

Instructions

    Prepare and steam momos. Let them cool slightly.

    Deep fry or pan fry the steamed momos until crispy on outside.

    For sauce: Heat oil in a wok. Add garlic and ginger, stir for 30 seconds.

    Add onions and bell peppers, stir-fry on high heat for 2 minutes.

    Add soy sauce, chili sauce, ketchup, vinegar, sugar, salt and pepper.

    Toss in the fried momos and coat well with sauce.

    Garnish with green onions. Serve immediately while crispy.
