Grilled chicken skewers with Nepali spice blend

Ingredients

  • - 1 lb chicken breast, cut into strips
  • - 1/2 cup yogurt
  • - 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • - 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • - 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • - 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • - 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • - Salt and pepper
  • - Bamboo skewers, soaked
  • - Melted butter for basting

Instructions

    Mix yogurt with ginger-garlic paste, spices, lemon juice, salt and pepper to make marinade.

    Marinate chicken strips for at least 2 hours or overnight in refrigerator.

    Thread chicken onto soaked bamboo skewers.

    Grill or broil, turning frequently and basting with melted butter, until cooked through.

    Serve with peanut sauce or mint chutney.
