Crispy spiced potato patties - perfect tea-time snack

Ingredients

  • - 4 large potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • - 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
  • - 2 green chilies, minced
  • - 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • - 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • - 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • - 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • - 2 tablespoons cilantro, chopped
  • - Salt and pepper
  • - 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • - 2 eggs, beaten
  • - Oil for frying

Instructions

    Mix mashed potatoes with onion, chilies, ginger, spices, cilantro, salt and pepper.

    Form into oval patties.

    Dip each patty in beaten egg, then coat with breadcrumbs.

    Deep fry until golden brown on both sides. Drain on paper towels.

    Serve hot with tomato ketchup or green chutney.
