Sweet hung yogurt dessert with nuts and spices

Ingredients

  • - 2 cups thick yogurt (Greek yogurt works well)
  • - 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • - 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • - Pinch of saffron
  • - 2 tablespoons almonds, chopped
  • - 2 tablespoons pistachios, chopped
  • - 1 tablespoon raisins
  • - 1 tablespoon dried coconut (optional)

Instructions

    If using regular yogurt, hang it in a muslin cloth for 3-4 hours to drain excess water.

    Soak saffron in 1 tablespoon warm milk.

    Beat hung yogurt until smooth and creamy.

    Add powdered sugar, cardamom and saffron milk. Mix well.

    Fold in half the nuts and raisins.

    Transfer to a serving bowl.

    Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

    Garnish with remaining nuts and coconut before serving.
