Momo Recipe
Delicious vegetarian dumplings filled with mixed vegetables
Ingredients
- Dough for wrappers:
- - 5 cups all-purpose flour
- - 1 tablespoon oil
- - 1 cup water or as required
- - Pinch of salt
- Filling:
- - 2 cups cabbage, finely chopped
- - 1 cup carrots, grated
- - 1 cup onion, finely chopped
- - 1/2 cup green onion, finely chopped
- - 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, finely chopped
- - 1 tablespoon fresh garlic, minced
- - 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- - 1/2 teaspoon timur (Szechwan pepper)
- - 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
- - 1 tablespoon cumin powder
- - 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- - 3 tablespoons cooking oil
- - Salt and Pepper
Instructions

1Heat oil in a pan, saute the vegetables with garlic, ginger and spices until softened. Let cool completely before filling.

2Make dough by combining flour, oil, salt and water. Knead until smooth, rest for 15 minutes.

3Roll out wrappers, fill with vegetable mixture, pleat and steam for 10-12 minutes.

4Serve hot with spicy tomato achar.
