About Phulchoki

Phulchoki (Hill of Flowers) at 2,782m is the highest point surrounding the Kathmandu Valley and one of the best birdwatching and nature spots near the capital. The hill is covered in pristine cloud forest with over 570 species of plants and is renowned among birdwatchers for species like the spiny babbler (Nepal's only endemic bird). In spring, the hillside explodes with rhododendron, magnolia, and orchid blooms. A dirt road leads to the top, but the forest trails offer excellent day hikes with panoramic views of the valley and Himalayan range.
